NOR CAL Tripawds Party

We attended our third NOR CAL Tripawds party on Saturday January 9, 2010, at the Mill Valley Dog Park in CA.  For the second month in a row we had seven tripawds playing at the park.  While not a very warm day we still enjoyed each others company and celebrated birthdays, ampuversaries, and meeting new friends.  We got to meet Max (and Linda) who were up with their pack from SO CAL, and Montana, who is in NOR CAL but we had not met before.   We also got to meet Bob and Emily who recently had to say goodbye to Angel Cherry.  It was so great to meet them in person, and hopefully we provided some amount of relief for them, if only for the afternoon.

I think I have heard everyone say at one time or another that this meet up is one of the highlights of the month- that is definitely true for me.

I am still working on my video skills.  One thing you will notice is that I cut off almost every one’s head, unless they were sitting or kneeling.  As I said earlier- when you have pugs you learn to aim low!!

Oh well, this is about our tripawds anyway.

Maggie was a little black pug born in 1999. On September 7, 2006 she lost her left rear leg to a mast cell tumor. Because of lymph node involvement Maggie went through a 6 month chemo regimen. She was given 6 to 9 months after her amp, but she beat mast cell cancer! In the winter of 2010 things started to slide; in the course of about 2 months she had 2 MCTs removed, was diagnosed with incontinence and kidney failure, and then the big blow- oral melanoma. She lived her carefree tri-pug life until she crossed over on June 2, 2010.

  3. Wow!! that was really well done, congratulations!

Next month I’m hanging out with you so I can learn to use our camera.

  4. This is such a wonderful video – seeing all these hoppy tripawds hopping around. It captures so much of what our tripawds are all about. Thanks for the great camera work too – it couldn’t have been better. Brought tears to my eyes for sure! If anyone knows of a tripawd gathering in So. Calif (LA) would love to attend with my tripawd Mackenzie.

  5. Great video. Having such a great cast helped. Sigh. I know I’m seeing it late, and somehow I think this is the first video of a tripawd pawty I’ve watched – Gerry’s been keeping me busy, I guess. (Oh sure, blame it on the dog). I’m totally going to attempt some Madison pawties. This clinches it. I know we’ve got more local tripawds out there, so I’m thinking of putting up posters and we’ll see if they show. And if any out-of-towners could make it, even better : ) We’ll see. I don’t think I’d have much luck until winter is over.

    Thanks for sharing!

Oh and Maggie’s wheels are totally pawesome!!
